Watch and See: Embracing God's Preordained Plan for You

God has a unique and preordained plan for each of us. As believers in Christ operating in the marketplace, we must recognise that our careers, businesses, and professional endeavours are not separate from our faith. They are integral to God's divine plan. Jeremiah 29:11-13 reminds us of God's intentionality and promise:

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NKJV)

God's plan for us is filled with peace, hope, and a prosperous future. However, discovering this plan requires actively seeking Him and aligning our lives with His purpose.

Seeking and Discovering God's Plan

God has already mapped out our future, including every detail, plan, breakthrough, and exploit. Our responsibility is to seek and search out our destiny. This intimate journey with God involves hearing His voice, developing our prophetic eyes to see and nurturing our spiritual senses to discern His guidance. As Habakkuk 2:1-4 illustrates, we must position ourselves to hear from God:

"I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the LORD answered me and said: 'Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.'" (Habakkuk 2:1-4 NKJV)

Here, "watch" (shaw-mar') means to guard, protect, and be attentive. We must diligently seek God's vision for our lives and, once received, write it down clearly and run with it. The word see (raw-aw') refers to discern, gaze, perceive, and vision, while the word Vision (khaw-zone') refers to a sight (mentally), a dream, revelation, or oracle.

It is evident that God wants us to have clear revelation and spiritual sight from Heaven and the correct pre-destined perception what He has planned for our lives. It's our responsibility to be searching for this and then be attentive and guard what He reveals to us.

The Glory of Seeking God's Hidden Treasures

Proverbs 25:2 highlights the honour and responsibility of seeking out God's concealed matters:"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter." (Proverbs 25:2 NKJV)

God, in His infinite wisdom, has hidden treasures and revelations for us to discover. This search is honourable, reflecting our royal identity in Christ as "kings and
priests" (Revelation 1:6). Through this diligent search, we uncover God's plans and purposes for our lives.

God-Given Gifts, Talents, and Abilities

God has endowed us with unique gifts, talents, and abilities to advance His Kingdom. Ephesians 2:10 states:

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)

Our skills and abilities are not for personal gain alone but are meant to fulfil the good works God has preordained for us. It's our responsibility to steward these gifts wisely, seeking God's guidance on how to use them effectively in the marketplace.

Practical Steps to Partner with God

1. Intimacy with God:

Cultivate a deep relationship with God through prayer, worship, and studying His Word. Seek His guidance continually.

2. Hearing God's Voice:

Develop spiritual disciplines that enhance your ability to hear God's voice. This includes times of silence, meditation, and reflection.

3. Write and Pursue the Vision:

Once you receive God's vision for your life, write it down and make actionable plans to pursue it. Trust in God's timing and remain patient.

4. Utilise Your Gifts:

Identify your God-given talents and seek ways to use them professionally. Whether in business, education, healthcare, or any other field, your gifts are meant to advance God's Kingdom.

5. Stay Faithful:

Be diligent and faithful in your current assignments. As 1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds us, whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Conclusion

As marketplace champions, we must understand that God has preordained a plan for each of us. Our professional lives are integral to this plan, and we are called to partner with God to advance His Kingdom. Embrace you're calling, seek God's vision, and utilise your unique gifts to make a lasting impact.

May you be inspired to take your place in the marketplace, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and ready to see God's Kingdom come in every sphere of life.
